Inspired by the charm of Hobbiton mornings and second breakfasts, the Pine Cone Vest brings cozy, effortless comfort. This vest features a subtle knit-and-purl pine cone motif, adding just the right amount of texture without overwhelming your stitches.

With no waist shaping and minimal shoulder shaping, it’s designed to fit all genders and body types comfortably. Whether you’re curling up with a cup of tea, wandering through the woods, or just looking for that perfect go-to layer, the Pine Cone Vest is ready to be your next favourite knit!

The vest is knit in the round from the bottom up, then split for the armholes and knit flat. The shoulders are minimally shaped using short rows and finished with a three-needle bind off. The collar and armholes are edged with one-by-one

ribbing, picked up and knit around the openings.

Pattern Notes:

This pattern is knit in the round from the bottom up, then split for the underarms and worked flat (front and back), to

the shoulders. Stitches are left live for the neck, and the shoulders are seamed with a three-needle bind off. The

armholes and neck are then edged in 1 by 1 ribbing, with stitches picked up around the armholes, and additional stitches picked up as needed around the front neck.

The Pine Cone Stitch Pattern has written and charted instructions, for both flat and in-the-round. This pattern also has an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software, which includes the written instruction.
